With my life under the laws of quarantine for past few days which is same as most of you (readers) right now, I was flipping through all the channels in a boredom that struck me long ago. Astonishingly, I saw K.G.F movie being telecasted in a tamil channel (for nth time may be). Nevertheless it wasn’t my first time that I was so frenzied about viewing this movie (neither will it be my last time). Though few critics perceived it to be too dramatic of a movie, I couldn’t help myself but admire the movie with its imperfections. I witnessed a few valuable life lessons that I wish to portray in this article.

PARENTAL ADVICE IS MORE VALUABLE THAN FORMAL EDUCATION

Presumably, this part was one of the main essence of the movie which distinguishes K.G.F from rest of the movies. This movie’s hero introduction starts after a few scenes where mother asks her son(hero’s childhood) to make a promise that he would die as a rich man. The movie has interval of scenes where his mother’s words would either be a form of advice or positivity which influences the futuristic action of the main character. The movie also ends with action that was influenced by his mom’s words where he takes the centre stage during the climax scene. This makes sure that parent’s advice exceeds the value of a formal education especially when your life is at stake.

AIM HIGHER AS YOU GO UP

Rocky (ahh yes! that’s the character name) in his childhood wanted to rule the city of Bombay which he considers to be one of the most valuable thing to achieve in his lifetime. But all that changed when a character that goes by the name Andrews promised the hero that he would give Bombay in exchange for a kill of an authoritarian. He then questioned himself on why something considered so valuable by him was given as a exchange for a solo kill. Then he changed his aim to conquer something more valuable (i.e, K.G.F). Thus always aim higher as you get near to your goal.

REMEMBER WHERE YOU CAME FROM

This is perhaps one of the few underrated lesson that I wish many people could realise in their life. This is in relevance with many scenes where has thoughts about how he lived with his mom during his childhood. The scene that deserves a special mention with respect to this life lesson is when he drives the car with his loved one. On the way he sees a mother with her baby trying to recover a bun(type of bread) which was spilled while crossing the road. Rocky, on noticing this incident, parks his car sideway on the road. He, by remembering where his upbringing came from and evoking his mother sentiment, goes on to explain the hardships of his past (and others like him) to get meal whereas the rest of world with its riches and full of food spills and eats without any care. If everyone remembers where they came from, many would value the things they have more than what they respect it right now and will be more humble.

LIVE LIFE LIKE A BRAND

What difference or what is the significance here one might ask. Brand is something more of an inbuilt intangible value. There is a scene where the hero, in his childhood, asks his peer on what does brand signify. The peer explains that brand equates as a unique value that is perceived by all. Likewise we must ensure that we leave a mark on this earth that is recognised by future generations. Your goal must not be to live forever but to create something will.

NEVER FEAR TO STAND ALONE

Perhaps, all heroic movies adapt this methodology to ensure that we do differentiate hero from the rest. Here the portrayal scenes made the difference between this movie and the rest. Be it the opening fight scene where he fights alone with all other gangsters to help his gang recapture the city of Bombay, the pub scene where he is surrounded by his lover’s gang or the slavery like set-up at the Narachi Limestone area where has to single-handedly kill the Garudan (a villain). Similarly, be confident on your abilities and be a stand out from the rest.

Comment your favorite scene in the movie in the section below.
